The idea behind B.O.A.T. is to bring together the various Orthodox parishes in the Butler area. B.O.A.T is currently comprised of three Butler area Orthodox churches. Saint Andrew Orthodox Church lead by Fr. Joseph Wargo, Saint Anthony Orthodox Church lead by Fr. Gregory Long and Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church formerly lead by Fr. Stefan Zencuch. I say formerly because Fr. Stefan recently left the Saints Peter and Paul parish to do mission work in Florida. We wish Fr. Stefan the best of God's blessings in his new endeavors. We eagerly await a new priest to come to SS. Peter and Paul church.
B.O.A.T. meets once per month at one of the participating parishes. See the newsletter calendar for dates and times.
Mission Statement of B.O.A.T.
"Butler Orthodox Acting Together" (B.O.A.T) is an Orthodox Christian society under the patronage of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, created by and acting in conjunction with the Orthodox parishes of the Butler area. Its purpose is to exhibit the unity in action implied by the spiritual unity of the one holy Orthodox Christian Church, bringing together the people of our parishes for worship, fellowship and service to Almighty God and to the community. We, the people of B.O.A.T., strive to enlarge our spiritual dimensions and bring to the community at large our love, support and attention.
